     The history of the company reaches the 20-ties of the last century. At that time, some manufacture of wooden products was running in the area of the present factory in Gorlice.

     In 1934 FOREST company employing about 50 workers was established; it was focused on wooden products manufacture including clothes hangers, garden furniture and shop-fitting elements.

     Two years later the company was distinguished with the order for making hangers for furnishing the apartments on the ship Queen Mary.

     The twists and turns during the Second World War led to some loss in factory production estate and forced temporary changes in the production profile.

     Since 1945 FOREST became a state-owned company, originally just sawing wood materials and making wooden clothes hangers.

     Till 1963 the company was considerably extended and modernized, once ZPD FOREST was a multi-factory enterprise with its own sawmills, making wood-floorings and some kitchen furniture as well.

     Beginning of the 90-ties the subordinate companies got separated and the restructuring was carrying out which resulted in constituting the limited liability company Gorlickie Przedsiebiorstwo Przemyslu Drzewnego FOREST Sp. z o.o. in May 2001.
